What is a pH Calculator?

The pH level calculator is an online tool to find the pH of a solution. It has different parameters such as molarity, concentration, and H+ ion concentration. An online pH concentration calculator automatically calculates the pH of the acid or base you input.

pH Calculator

The pH formula calculator is a beneficial tool for students, researchers, professionals, or anyone who needs it. It is used in various fields where finding the acidity or alkalinity of solutions is important. The concentration of solutions is also important to measure which can be easy for you if you use our molarity solution calculator.

Definition of pH?

pH is the numerical measure of the acidity or alkalinity of a solution. It is usually measured on a pH scale. The scale measured from 0 to 14. The pH of the neutral solutions equals 7. The acidic solution has a pH lower than 7 while the alkaline solution has a pH of more than 7. It is also defined as the negative logarithm of hydrogen ions.

pH = -log [H+]

For buffer solution, the formula of pH is:

pH = pKa + log [salt] / [acid or base]

Similar: The titration of such solutions is hard to know sometimes but you can utilize our titration formula calculator to ease your calculations

How do you calculate pH?

We can calculate pH by using the pH scale. It is an easy way to find the pH of a solution. We can calculate pH manually and by using a pH calculator. Right now we are going to tell you how to calculate pH manually. Here are some examples to help you know that:

Example 1:

Find the pH of a solution where 0.09 molar acetic acid and 0.11 molar CH3COONa are present. The Ka for CH3COOH is 1.85 x 10-5.

Solution:

CH3COONa = 0.11 M

CH3COONa = 0.09 M

Ka of CH3COOH = 1.85 x 10-5

pK = -log (1.8 x 10-5) = 4.75

Putting the given data of CH3COONa in the formula

pH = 4.74 + log [0.11] / [0.09]

pH = 4.74 + 0.087 = 4.83

Related: To determine the molar ratio of acetic acid or CH3COONa try our calculator for mole fraction.

Example 2:

What will be the concentration of soil solution if the moist soil has a pH of 7.84?

Solution:

pH of moist soil = 7.84

According to the formula of pH and putting the given data in it,

7.84 = -log [H+]

[H+] = log [7.84]

[H+] = 1.45 x 10-8 M

Suggested: To determine the solution of moist soil, use our molality formula calculator.

How to find a ph level calculator?

A pH calculator online can be found easily. To find an online pH level calculator, first of all, open your Web browser and search for an online pH concentration calculator.

There would be a lot of online pH molarity calculators. You can click on any calculator that you find good. Our pH solver is also here to help you find the pH of solutions. What you need to do is learn the way to use it.

How to use an online ph formula calculator?

Using our pH calculator is so easy. Everything is in front of you. You have to write the moles of the concentration of the solution. You will write it in the input section. You will also write the acid.

For example the acid is HNO3 then you will select it from the given section. Then you will click on the “calculate” button to initiate the calculations of finding pH.
